About this listen

The plan is simple. George and Ben have three weeks to cycle 1,000 miles from the bottom of England to the top of Scotland. There's just one small problem - they have no bikes, no clothes, no food, and no money. Setting off in just a pair of Union Jack boxer shorts, they attempt to rely on the generosity of the British public for everything from food to accommodation, clothes to shoes, and bikes to beer.

During the most extraordinary of challenges, George and Ben scavenge through rubbish bins, search for the Loch Ness monster, wash dishes, clean hotels, sing Christmas carols for food, swim in lakes, descend Cornish hills on children's bikes, and cook a barbecue for 30 old people in a field. They spend the night in a greenhouse, a canal boat, a posh hotel, an empty house, a pub, a tent in a car park, and a barn with a bull.

Through the course of their hysterical journey, they are clothed, fed, and sheltered by the generous people of Britain.

An easy listen to following the story of two lads after they come up with a crazy challenge. Fun listen to, enjoying their exploits while travelling the Uk. My only frustration was the over use of after thoughts, and ‘of course that didn’t happen’ that kept coming up. George does write a god story of the travels but I did start to get fed up with the annoying bits. Other than that, an enjoyable true travel log.

Wonderful trip recorded on paper

I consider this a must listen, narrator is slightly effeminate. otherwise excellent. I hope it sells well. perhaps a film?

Loved the idea of the adventure and loved the description within the book. An enjoyable read. Could wait to start listening again to the story.

It would be good to have a link to some photos of there journey as in the book. The photos in the book are mentioned and I would be interested in seeing them

Great adventure and story

This book has definitely some good laugh out loud moments and overall I enjoyed it… It is however somewhat cringey at times and occasionally I felt like due to the detail of the content, people could be identified and for all their good deeds possibly get into trouble for giving away freebies without authority or be described in unflattering ways… the reader’s performance was mostly excellent with good attempt at regional accents (though I’m not the best judge at how accurate they are) and I have just one complaint - if talking about Scotland do not pronounce “Loch” as “lock”!!!

Funny and entertaining for the most part

A great listen. From beginning to end it provides a smile for every mile. Having dropped my daughter at John O Groats to walk to lands end I really could visualise the journey Starting with just a pair of Boxers puts a whole new light on it ! George and Ben made me laugh all the way- I'm just a bit sorry they managed to blag so many great nights accommodation as I think they needed a few more nights in the hay !
Well done boys ! Great work

Endless amusement
