About this listen

The official novelization of the brand new game

His vengeance against the gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive...and teach his son to do the same.

This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series - satisfying combat, breathtaking scale, and a powerful narrative - and fuses them anew.

Good read before ragnarok

didn't have time to play the game before ragnarok so I chose to listen to it instead. Especially seeing that Alistair Duncan read it. He read it well and diffrentiated the voices well enough to know who is speaking.
The book had some new things and insight into the characters minds which gave a better understanding of the situation

Incredible, such a fantastic story!

I LOVED God of War on PlayStation and this novelisation of that story is utterly utterly perfect. In fact I can’t wait to listen to it again!

The narrator is incredible and I’m very sad to see this is his only book. If you have played the game or enjoy Norse mythology then this book is for you! The accents are perfect, the pace is perfect and the delivery is perfect. I’ve listened to close to 500 audio books and this is comfortably in my top ten!

An all too short epic worth every second.

if you're not a fan of the series you'll like it, if you are a fan you'll love it. A story of epic proportions peppered with interesting characters, relationships and archs all strung together by Alistair Duncan's marvellous narration. This novel has heart and it shows. The Barlog's and their team have shown the same exquisite craftsmanship in the release of The God of War novelisation as they did with the release of the last game. All I can say as a returning fan Is that I can't wait for the next chapter. With thanks and regards.

I mostly enjoyed every moment of it, but...

Mimir is a good story teller and Alastair Duncan did a good job voicing him and because of that he is my favorite character, but Alastairs voice impressions aren't the best! Instead of giving Kratos the deep and powerful voice of Christopher Judge, he made Kratos sound like a mix between Vilgax and Ares and i had problems with other character voices too, but not as much as Kratos and some moments were better in the game than Alastair Duncan made it sound like, for example ( how Kratos said: "THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES IN KILLING A GOD!" In game it sounded much more serious ) or how some phrases were better in game than here!

A book read by Mimir himself!

Read by the voice of Mimir, players of the game counterpart will enjoy this audiobook. It's a nice refresher of the 2018 game without having to play it in its entirety.
Understandably some parts were cut but it didn't take away from the story overall.

Best for Non Gamers

So good that I don't think I need to play the game. Voice acting was excellent and the story gripped me as it continued. Starts a little slow, makes you teary eyed at the end.
