Summary

Going Back is the electrifying third novel in Neil Lancaster’s Tom Novak series, described by Tony Parsons as making “Jason Bourne look like a vegan pilates teacher”.

Novak is back. Answering a call from his old friend and comrade-in-arms Mike Brogan, Tom Novak finds himself back in the one place he does not want to be, the home of his childhood nightmares: Sarajevo.

Undercover and thrust into the centre of a Black Op, Tom and his team are double-crossed and forced to rely on their wits as a deadly new threat emerges. Forced into a race against time to stop a terrifyingly effective new weapon, can Tom fight against the odds once more to save not just those he loves, but the world as we know it?

Critic reviews

"If you take all the best parts of 24, Line Of Duty, and Mission Impossible, and put them in one book, then you would have something very much like Going Back. An incredible, exciting read." (Cass Green)

Going back

This is the third book. It was honestly the best I couldn’t put it down.

Great listen

Enjoyable listen. Good narration, no gratuitous violence compared to other authors of this genre.

3 in a row

I listened to the Tom Novak trilogy (so far anyways) back to back and apart from some narration issues with book 1 (the narration speed had to be increased to make it enjoyable) I can say unreservedly that I loved these books, the author has experience with both military and police and it shows in the detail

Excellent

Very good and fast moving. The narrative was sometimes a bit stilted but didn't spoil the overall story.

Excellent

Loving this series of books. Shame there are currently only three as I could binge listen to many more.

Ok but standards dropped

The previous 2 books were better - this was up and down and felt lazily written. I would read another though.

hard work

good story, poorly read. I need gave up listening. The narrator accents are very poor, they merge into one at times making it hard to whom you are listening

What an on edge storyline ?

I loved stories with a lot of suspense and ending which make me guess to ending, that I would never in my wildest dream thought of .. Excellent book Mr . Lancaster Bravo 😜
