I won't lie, this has now dropped a star. I still enjoyed this one, I love rhe mysterious and the romance of it all.

But there are some things I missed. There are some things that are left unsolved and left ambiguous. While I enjoy this element of stories, I want more!

I knew to be suspicious of one character! but they were really disturbed!

I’ve been struggling to get involved in any love story of late. I blame authors not challenging themselves. And editors not demanding way more. Anyhow…

Gothika… got me to raise an eyebrow— for more reasons than one. It felt like paranormal activity all over (shivers) it was good. The suspense was banging. The teacher/ student trope for once in my reading experience was so delicious & sexy. Vad is definitely my type of antihero. He’s secretive, moody, broody, with a hint of sarcasm, plush a little stalker’ish thrown in there and yep… my type of “bad guy” & our Little Crow was my type of heroine. I never saw this story coming. And there in lies the beauty of this story. A medium burn and yet is sexy in a gothic dark way.

Why can’t every book I choose be like this. Trigger warning here: if you’re a little afraid of the supernatural, this might give you hives. The steam makes up for all chills going down your spine. Might even fog up your reading glasses.

I really liked the premise of this book. I enjoyed that it was a standalone book. I thought it was will written and well thought out. There was a few loose ends but nothing that spoiled it overall. I also never saw the ending coming. But the female narrator was just too over the top for my taste. Reading the calm bits of the story was great, very entertaining. The more exciting bits of the book were spoiled, in my opinion, by over acting. I would still recommend though as she does have a lovely voice and I enjoyed a lot of it. Male narrator was good. Will read more by this author.
