About this listen
I'm dying, and the only one who can save me is him.
Hades, king of the Underworld, god of the dead, ruler of... Honestly? He's got too many names to list.
You know the guy.
Apparently, I need him to survive this disease that's been a death sentence since I was born.
Apparently, I'm also the reincarnation of his queen, Persephone. How's that for a kicker?
Little, hideous me, who uses tattoos to cover his endless flaws and whose only power is seeing death at every corner.
And apparently, we have to do the deed to save me from certain demise.
Yeah. If I wasn't so unequivocally...me, I'd think it was a very elaborate scheme to get me into bed.
But even that goes wrong.
So. Terribly. Wrong.
And now everything is effed up.
Figures. Only I could break the god of the freaking dead.
Hades and his Witch is the second book in the Demon Gods series, a spin-off series set in the Cursed Hearts universe.
Inside you'll find a magical tattoo artist in need of saving, a god of death who's a hopeless romantic, ghostly "interactions", and a snarky mobile phone (among other things). Written in British English with US spelling and grammar.
This book can be listened to as a standalone.

The narration is fantastic and elevates the story even more. John York really brings the characters' personalities and emotions to life. A+++
I received a free review copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Unique gender-bending take on Hades/Persephone

I loved everything about this version of the Hades and Persephone myth. Making it fresh, with plenty of Sandro taking the lead. Hades was so soft for his mate. It was adorable!
The audio is well performed with John York. There are distinctive voices for the main characters as well as the side characters like Hela. really enjoyable listen.

I loved the first book of this series and have been looking forward to Hades and Sandro since first seeing the cover reveal. This is a brilliant take on Hades story and how he gets his Persephone back after they have been separated for millennia. Sandro has been ill his whole life but also has visions of people dying. Unfortunately he has seen his own which will be happening much sooner than anyone would like. Madam Red Cap is back with what seems some crazy magic but it works to bring Hades into Sandro's life.
Being beaten down his whole life, Sandro cannot believe that he is a reincarnation of the beautiful god, Persephone, but Hades works hard to change that. There is instant attraction and an innate connection shared on a somewhat cosmic level which works in their favour but something happens to make it all go wrong and they end up fighting for their lives as someone has it out for them.
It becomes a race against time that is intense, dramatic and filled with one hot, angry god determined to find out a way to save the love of his life. My heart hurt for Sandro throughout as he has been fighting against everything his whole life - bullies because of being deaf and ill, knowing his death is coming, being left for adoption (luckily two awesome women became his kick-ass mums). He struggles a lot throughout to believe he is worthy of a god but as the fight for himself and Hades continues, he learns a lot about himself and what he is able to do and bring to the table.
*TW - talk of suicide idealisation, depression, death of pet, on page fighting*
An entertaining addition to the series and I love this version of Hades and how he can go completely dark when it comes to those who make others suffer but a complete sweetheart when it is to do with Sandro.
John York brings life to a great story
