About this listen

What's your greatest fear?

It's criminal profiler Ivy Dunlap's job to unravel the psyches of the most dangerous men alive. None haunt her dreams more than the killer who took her son's life sixteen years ago, then silently disappeared into the dark. Now an urgent request for help from the Chicago police has reawakened Ivy's greatest nightmare.

The Madonna Murderer has returned to fulfill his calling. This time Ivy understands the killer, and will face her greatest fear to stop him from killing again...

Run of the mill stuff. I like layers to my story and this one has no surprises and no depth.

Formulaic

I'm just over half-way through and I don't think I can be bothered to finish this. Nothing in it is interesting to me. There's a weird tendency to over-describe irrelevant things, loads and loads of tedious dialogue that neither progresses the story or illuminates anything interesting about the characters, and obvious plot-holes.

The narrator is a bit annoying too, she's fine in the story narration, but for the dialgue goes into an annoying slow over-enunciation of everything.

For a thriller, this is quite boring.
