Summary

To find their soulmates, all they need is four dates, a kiss and a breakup...

Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other's out, and they'll both go on to find the love of their lives. It's a bonkers idea...and it just might work.

Emma hadn't planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka.

It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected - including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

A sharp and scintillating summer novel that will make listeners laugh out loud and cry happy tears from the New York Times bestselling author of Yours Truly.

Abby Jiminez does it again.

Abby Jiminez does it again. The mental health representation, the gentle love, the beautiful way she describes emotions - I’m in love again.

Justin is an absolute sweetheart and my heart hurt for both him and Emma throughout this book.

The audiobook narration was stunning yet again. The emotions that both narrators were able to portray really sealed the deal for me and I found myself teeing up on several occasions.

I really enjoyed this one!!

I love the way this book is written. I love the characters and how well the mental health aspect is spot on as I have a mother who treated her kids terribly so I can relate to FMC. My only thing is I thought this book was a duet narration and it started that way then it went into duel narration which spoiled it a tiny bit and I think it would have been even more powerful than it was. Both narrators did a fantastic job.

The female narrator was amazing

Both narrators were really good and the story was good. However, the woman narrator in particular was brilliant. Her voices were great

Wonderful!

Another stunning book from Abby Jimenez and I loved the tie - ins with previous characters from her previous books. She is one of the only authors who is guaranteed to make me both laugh and cry, and Emma and Justin’s story did exactly this. For me, this was very slow burn in terms of how their relationship developed, but this had to be the case taking into account Emma’s background and experiences. I loved both of the main characters; Justin was just so likeable, funny and caring and Emma’s empathy was beautiful. A scene early on in the book, where she helped a confused woman at a bus stop brought tears to my eyes - my Dad has Alzheimer’s, and if he ever did get lost or confused somewhere out in the world, I would hope someone would help him with such compassion. Minnesota is now on my list of places to visit and the two narrators (who are two favourites anyway) brought the story to life. It’s a wonderful, beautiful book - but it!

Listened in one day

I couldn’t put this down. Such a heartfelt story, totally gripping. Predictable? Yes in the way this genre are but I loved it so much. Also kind of sad I don’t have it to read anymore!!!

Amazing storytelling

Omg I love Abby Jimenez books, they really move me and I’m gripped to the point that I can’t stop listening and find myself creeping off to do ‘jobs’ so my fiancée doesn’t think I’m ignoring him 🤭
Her storytelling and obvious research she does in her books are stand out and put across so well by the fantastic narration, who are my absolute favourite American Narrator’s.
Love loved this audible listen 💕
