The Legend

Druss, Captain of the Axe: the stories of his life were told everywhere. One of my favourite books of all time. Sean Barrett does his usual great job with the narration.

A simple but engaging story, brilliantly read by Sean Barrett. His voice as Druss is damn near perfect. So pleased that Legend and the other Drenai books are finally on Audible. RIP David Gemmell.

I’m ecstatic that this series has finally been made into audiobooks , Legend is a childhood favourite of mine that I’ve read countless times and thoroughly enjoyed it being read to me by Sean Barrett. A fantastic book narrated superbly and I’m glad this (until now, dying) series is available in this format to attract new fans and to enjoy a renewed love from old fans alike.

As a Gemmell fan since the 80’s, this story to read or listen to is an absolute pleasure. The characters are so vivid that midway through they’re like old friends

Legend was the book that first grabbed my imagination for this genre when I was a lot, lot younger. Having read all the Gemmell books multiple times and being addicted to Audible for the last few years I had hoped to find Gemmell being available....now they are!

The Audible version of Legend is brilliant. A great story with rounded, flawed but inspiring characters that once again immersed me in my favourite book by giving me another way in which to enjoy my favourite book.

This is a great action fantasy novel written by a master and this is his earliest work it is truly a great work rivalling JRR Tolkien

Rek - well read with the voice and had a decent storyline to him and his exploits
