I was drawn straight into this audio by the skills of both the narrators. Rachel Beattie and Orcus Auditory capture both the narrative and characters and drive the story along with conviction. I love to be pulled into a story and was, quickly . This is a dark story in many ways, while also a love story which brings together Kylie and Alex. There is an outside threat to any HEA for this couple in the form of John, Kylie's ex and colleague. He becomes increasingly ...but I will leave it there, for you to discover..💖💖💖💖💖

Wow this book is fantastic. With a brilliant storyline and fantastically written characters I was absolutely hooked from the first chapter. I can’t wait for the next book in the series as it has left me with so many questions that need answers. A fantastic performance from Raquel.

This book is filled with mystery, secrets, danger, and twists and turns. The world building is intriguing. The story ends with a cliff hanger, and I am looking forward to listening to Revenge, the next book in the series

First, as a criminal defense attorney, I can honestly say this book captured perfectly the working life (especially during a high-stakes trial) of a lawyer. Kylee is a talented defense attorney in a prestigious firm. Having just left an abusive and terrifying relationship with a co-worker she still works with, she’s not looking for love. She throws herself into her career in a bid to keep the haunting demons at bay. A chance encounter with Alex Stone, a wealthy client of their firm, turns into instant chemistry.

Alex has secrets of his own, and a tortured childhood frames the way he views love. He protects Kylee at every turn, but has to constantly check his own impulses of control. Kylee pushes back, but knows that with her ex un-raveling, she needs Alex’s protection more than ever.

The pacing and writing are tight, exciting, and make for an extremely enjoyable listen. Don’t let the long length of the book put you off- you’ll be so engrossed, you’ll have a hard time not stopping for things like sleep.
