found this to be a light, fun listen with some lovely nods to many things gothic.
there's the occasional serious point but all treated delicately & at a pace where a point is made but not laboured.

I have recently found this author and have now listened to two of her series. I like tge characters and enjoy the story lines. I just hope they add the rest of the series to audible.

fantastic story. beautifully written with intriguing characters and plots leaving you guessing right unitl the end. Well narrated with thought and emotion. definitely worth a listen!!

incredible steampunk mystery

I was planning to pace myself with these 3 books but ended up binging it in about a week and immediately bought the next 3 too! It's well described as a cozy Regency mystery with some pretty gruesome horror thrown into the mix. I really liked the characters, the world building and the pacing - it was clearly planned as a 6 book series and slowly unfurls in a way that reels you in.

I was expecting it to be a bit steamier, if you're looking for spice prepare to be disappointed... you will have to listen to about 20 hours before there's even a kiss. But I'm still very much invested in Hannah and Wycliffe's extremely slow burn relationship.

I have really enjoyed these books. The story is unique, leaving want to know what happens next. The narrator is brilliant.

I will be honest. I had zero expectations when my wife suggested that we listen to this book together.
But I was completely swept away by the colourful characters, the intriguing plot and the wonderful Prose.
Tilly Wallace has become one of my favourite authors now.
And to finish it off the voice acting is absolutely superb and fits the story and the characters perfectly.
