Calming, useful, easyWhat does Jon Kabat-Zinn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
His calming voice really helps you, especially when you get to the meditative exercises as it would have been difficult to read and remember these and then perform the exercises properly - instead, you are talked through it in a clear and reassuring manner that helps you focus on the exercises and perform them properly, meaning that they are much more effective and useful.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were a couple of points when he talked about stress and living in the moment that really hit me hard as I could recognise myself in the negative cycle he was describing and I realised how much that was affecting my life. Before trying this I was sceptical but afterwards I was able to see what a difference it had made and how much better I felt.Any additional comments?
This book changed things for me dramatically - I lead a busy and often stressful life and this helped me learn how to step away from that and not get bogged down in daily stress and over thinking things but take some time to just appreciate the moment and bring some calm and non judgemental thinking to my day.Helpful, calming book that makes a difference
