About this listen
"Jackson’s characters and their heart-wrenching story linger long after the final page, urging readers to advocate for those who are disenfranchised and forgotten by society and the system." (Publishers Weekly, "An Anti-Racist Children's and YA Reading List")
From the critically acclaimed author of Allegedly, Tiffany D. Jackson, comes a gripping new novel about the mystery of one teenage girl’s disappearance and the traumatic effects of the truth.
Monday Charles is missing, and only Claudia seems to notice. Claudia and Monday have always been inseparable - more sisters than friends. So when Monday doesn’t turn up for the first day of school, Claudia’s worried.
When she doesn’t show for the second day, or second week, Claudia knows that something is wrong. Monday wouldn’t just leave her to endure tests and bullies alone. Not after last year’s rumors and not with her grades on the line. Now, Claudia needs her best - and only - friend more than ever. But Monday’s mother refuses to give Claudia a straight answer, and Monday’s sister April is even less help.
As Claudia digs deeper into her friend’s disappearance, she discovers that no one seems to remember the last time they saw Monday. How can a teenage girl just vanish without anyone noticing that she’s gone?

The raw shock of grief
It felt like we were transported into Claudia’s innocent world that was about to be shattered by just how far human cruelty can go. Incredible book.

great but bated the format
I liked the book a lot, it was an interesting story and extremely heartbreaking. however, the weird format made it really confusing at the end and when things happened etc was extremely weird. the plot was also a bit...random? it was also too long so it dragged on. I cant claim the author is a good writer, but her concepts and what she wants to say is unique. that's why I'm giving it 4 stars, but it was just lacking in a few places.
you can tell the narrator is young so I'm not being to harsh on her, she did a good job and I think she was a good choice for this book. the format may not fit for an audiobook and it may be less confusing as a physical book but the overall experience was good so if you're thinking of reading this and you want to listen to it I do recommend it

Monday!!
This story was so so good, so sad to know its a true story. I was thrown off towards the end of the story when we was told about Claudia experiencing ptsd. However I will most definitely be relistening to this story again
