About this listen
November 1907. George Dillman and Genevieve Masefield sail from Liverpool to New York on the maiden voyage of the luxurious Mauretania. Employed by the Cunard Line again as private detectives, they pose as passengers on what proves to be a very eventful crossing.
Dillman is instrumental in rescuing a crew member from being washed overboard in severe weather, but he is unable to save one of the first-class passengers from the same fate. At first, it looks like a case of death by misadventure, but is the presence of a record shipment of gold bullion on board just too great a coincidence? Dillman and Genevieve must fathom the motive for murder before it is too late.
Previously published under the name Conrad Allen, the Ocean Liner series is relaunched for a new generation of listeners.

Very easy to listen to
The second in this series that I’ve listened to. Very easy going and enjoyable. Finished in just two days with it being a shorter story.

A decent romp at sea
Quite enjoyed this listen. Plenty of interesting characters and the narration was very good…although Welsh accents went a bit Scottish at times!

Another murder mystery on the high season.
The historic & fuctional content. Interesting characters.
Important to hear the previous book: Murder on the Lusitania by the same author. The narrator is well chosen. Easy listening.

Actually pretty good
I did enjoy this story. I kind of guessed where and who but actually loved all the twists and turns. I do like James Langton’s reading, keeping to each person’s voices remarkably consistently, especially as there were so many.

Not His Best
I own all Edwards output on Audible. some are great some good. But this is the only bad one I have listened to. It goes on far too long and has many scenes nothing to do with the story. As far as I can make out just to bulk out a very thin plot which could have Benn told with a one hour short story. Sorry Edward. This one not for me. Cannot recommend it. But it is well read and written. Just not very good and too long,!

Another good story
I normally read these books so hearing George with an American accent was strange.
Another good story from Edward Marston

The relaxed pace, easy listening
An enjoyable story, relaxed, no easy to guess plot. The author spun it out well

Terrible narration & matching story
Despite several earnest attempts to listen to this book, it was impossible! A complete waste of my credit.
The narration is simply impossible to listen to. It sounds like someone describing an engineering manual rather than a storyline and probably a digital creation.
Quite simply the worst audible creation I have ever heard.
Do NOT bother!!!!
