About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Anna has just lost her taste for the Big Apple…
She has a life to envy. An apartment in New York. A well-meaning (too well-meaning?) partner. And a high-flying job in beauty PR. Who wouldn’t want all that?
Anna, it turns out.
Trading a minor midlife crisis for a major life event, she switches the skyscrapers of Manhattan for the tiny Irish town of Maumtully (population 1,217), helping old friends Brigit and Colm set up a luxury coastal retreat.
Tougher than it sounds. Newflash: the locals hate the idea. So much so, there have been threats – and violence.
Anna, however, worked in the beauty industry. There’s no ugliness she hasn’t seen. No wrinkle she can’t smooth over.
There’s just one fly in the ointment – old flame Joey Armstrong.
He’s going to be her wingman.
Never mind their chequered history. Never mind what might have been.
Because no matter how far you go, your mistakes will still be waiting for you . . .
‘Furiously funny and stealthily profound. There’s so much depth, but reading it made me feel happier and lighter than I have in ages – it’s sexy, smart, wise, touching and fun' Daisy Buchanan
'Keyes’s is so good at upping the tension in will they/won’t they scenarios, keeping the characterisation rich and the jokes frequent. She somehow keeps it both light and intensely important at the same time' i

Marian Keyes at her finest
I loved this book. It was funny, touching and romantic, I'm sad it's finished.
Loved listening to Marian reading the book, I could listen to her all day. She totally brought all the characters to life.

My favourite Mistake
I usually love Marian Keyes, but I struggled throughout this book, it was narrated too theatrical, I couldn’t concentrate on the story, I may read it and see if I enjoy it more, shame it wasn’t Gerri Halligan or Caroline Lennon narrating as they can make any book 5+

Very engaging, with the different storylines, something for everyone .
Grasp of the human condition, particularly what it is to be a woman of a certain age and all that it entails. Written with great humor and compassion.

brilliant
it was a great treat to go back to Anna Walsh, her sisters and Narky Joey. marian Keyes as ever has captured a stage in people's life - and shone a light on the different emotions and situations people go through.
it was even more of a joy to have Marian read the story and feel her warmth and humour come through.
I have had 2 days of pleasure reading this and didn't want it to end.
