About this listen
The number one best-selling series that Audible listeners call “wonderfully entertaining”, “packed with humor, geek references and thought-provoking storylines”, and performed by “a true master story teller and actor” returns as the Bobs face their deadliest challenge yet.
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all.
But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy. Sure, it could settle the Fermi Paradox for good (and what Bob doesn’t want to solve a mystery of the universe?). But it also reveals a threat to the galaxy greater than anything the Bobs could have imagined.
Just another average day in the Bobiverse.

A tad disappointing
A welcome return to the Bobiverse, that sadly, after a very strong opening, this one suffers from lack of clear focus. Too much filler essentially, with the Dragons thread in particular feeling like a retread of old ground.. Still worth a listen, but some of the magic is missing.

Rushed
I have just finished relistening to the first book and compared to this one it feels rushed, don’t get me wrong I still love it, but it does not feel like the usual bobiverse book. Look forward to the next one hopefully the author takes his time with that one as I am willing to wait for however long he needs for a great book. The factoids from the first book is much missed.

Still Bobiverse but not well edited I feel
So I love the Bobiverse series, and thoroughly enjoyed this 5th book as well, and Ray Porter's narration remains excellent. However, I felt that some of the storylines were edited or truncated or rewritten after initial editing, and as such the flow has been affected negatively. I was left feeling that I was listening to a semi-abridged book, and that dampened the overall enjoyment.
Does not take away from the fact that this series is in my view one of the most listenable sci-fi series I have come across. If you have not read the other books I do recommend you start with book 1, Dennis assumes you are familiar with the characters and past storylines.

Eagerly awaited new entry!
Really enjoyed this entry in the Bobiverse, admittedly it dies feel as if the focus of this book was to set the stage for what's to come in future books. I truly enjoy this series and can't wait for more.

Wonderful Bobiverse, but left feeling something mi
Perfect narration from Ray Porter as usual.
Something a bit lacklustre in the main storyline. How long is the delay going to be for the next chapter?
Wish chapter details included at least the 'which Bob', the awful 'update'to include the ridiculous 'shake to wake' has made rewinding an absolute pain. (Does ANYONE use it?)
Wish the 'update' to reviews hadn't been issued and reviews could still allow expression of agreement.

I Think this is lost
I have listened to the Bobiverse books multiple times, the first three were a master piece of story telling , and heavens river was a good follow up, this however, seems to be a collection of story ideas that didn't make it to a full book thrown together in the hopes that it will make a full book. The whole sub plot around the dragons went no where at all, and seems to have been shoehorned in a filler. I do not think I will be re listening to this one anytime soon.

Nerd dream
One of the finest works of sci-fi ficton i have ever read. Its serious and at the same time humorus, its technical and at the same time simple. Anyone looking for a long audio collection should start at We are Bob.

A lot better than the trip to beaver land
Finally we're back on tracking with the bigger picture.
The story does zoom in a bit to much on some small aspects, but it doesn't crash land there, more of a flyby this time. The only negative is the length and the waiting time untill the next book is released.
