I learned more about the Moon by reading this book than after a lifetime of study. Fascinating insights into the Moon's origins and history, but more than that, what it has meant to us, the people of Earth. This book is a must-read for anyone who has looked up at the Moon in wonder (Chris Hadfield, author of AN ASTRONAUT'S GUIDE TO LIFE ON EARTH)
Boyle explores humanity's changing relationship to the Moon: from worshipping it as a god, to observing, exploring and then walking upon its desolate surface. A splendid exploration through time of the moon

I like popular science, but this book didn't do it for me. For an astronomical subject, there was way too much history, that I found boring and found myself skipping the bits about Babylonian priests etc. There's by all means an interested reader for this type of stuff out there, but they might never pick this book due to it's science-y appearance.
Also the narration... I feel like memorising the narrator's name to never by anything she touched again. Most unfitting sing-song intonations and zero interest in material.
