About this listen
From Hugo Award winning author T. Kingfisher:
Marguerite Florian is a spy with two problems. A former employer wants her dead, and one of her new bodyguards is a far too good-looking paladin with a martyr complex.
Shane is a paladin with three problems. His god is dead, his client is much too attractive for his peace of mind, and a powerful organization is trying to have them both killed.
Add in a brilliant artificer with a device that may change the world, a glittering and dangerous court, and a demon-led cult, and Shane and Marguerite will be lucky to escape with their souls intact, never mind their hearts . . .

Love this series and this narrator
Firstly, please someone give Joel, the narrator, an award. His delivery is on point and I think his deep rough voice is a great fit for this series. Secondly, I love this series. It ticks all the boxes for me: interesting and fast-moving plot, flawed and lovable characters, a believable romance, and a good balance of drama and comedic relief. This fourth book delivers like the previous 3 did.

Fantastic Series.
This story is adventure, sorrow, love, laughter, it's full of characters with purpose, there was never a moment where I wondered what the point of adding a particular character or scene was, it all just flows perfectly. It's a fantastic world T. Kingfisher has created, if you haven't already, read all the Paladin books, but also the Clocktaur War books and Swordheart - I love them all.
