About this listen

Welcome to Phantasma.

There are only two rules to the game. Stay alive. And don’t fall in love.

When Ophelia’s sister disappears, there is only one way to save her. Ophelia must enter Phantasma, a deadly contest inside a haunted mansion, and claim its prize—a single wish.

Phantasma is a maze of twisting corridors and lavish ballrooms, of demons and temptations. Ophelia will face nine challenges, each more dangerous than the last. There can only be one winner, and the other contestants will stop at nothing to eliminate their rivals.

Every day the house creates new monsters. But just as Ophelia’s fears threaten to overwhelm her, a mysterious stranger offers her a bargain.

Charming, arrogant and infuriatingly attractive, Blackwell claims he can guide her through the lethal trials ahead. All he asks in return is ten years of her life.

Ophelia knows she shouldn’t trust him. Blackwell doesn’t seem dangerous, but appearances can be deceptive. Worse still, she feels a dark and irresistible attraction drawing them closer and closer.

Her life is on the line. But in Phantasma, the only thing deadlier than losing the game is losing your heart…

A Court of Thorns and Roses meets Caraval in this seductive fantasy adventure. With steamy romance, a sexy morally gray love interest, OCD rep and jaw-dropping twists, Phantasma is perfect for fans of Rebecca Yarros, Nisha J. Tuli and Carissa Broadbent.

This book was such a good time - gothic vibes, spooky themes, an intriguing FMC and MMC, and the perfect amount of spice and love confessions. I wanted more!

Can’t wait for book 2.

Laura Horowitz did an amazing job with the audiobook narration!

Great autumnal read

I went into this story blind, I didn't know what to expect. But from the beginning it caught me, I found everything that happened interesting... from the prologue I was like WHAT? LOL Ophelia, girl we need to talk all the time wanting to "stick out my tongue" girl, are you 5 years old? Her sister hated her at first not going to lie. Blackwell vampire vibes for sure haha but amazing obviously. The spice was just right for the story, on point. It was a bit easy to guess where the story was going, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the ride. I would have liked to explore the phantasma world a bit more, because it was very interesting. I'm a little angry at how she "discovered" that the necklace was the solution. I don't know, they could have explained it a little more in a more organic way. It was a nice story. I would have liked it to be a duet narration.

Spooky and amazing

Such a good book, loved the concept, narration amazing.
Real insight and I feel good representation of how some sufferer's of OCD can feel.
Couldn't put it down, brilliant gothic romance.
If your thinking about it, It's definitely worth a read!

I loved the whole gothic vibe of this book and the chemistry between Ophelia and Blackwell. I do think there could have been more to some of the games. It felt way too much as though Blackwell was Ophelia’s get out of jail free card and it was far easier for her than the others in the contest. Ophelia’s OCD in the book was very believable and handled with great sensitivity. The audiobook was well narrated, making it an entertaining listen.

Enjoyable gothic romantasy horror

I loved this from start to finish. I am normally one of those really annoying people that guess the twist within the first few chapters, but this kept me guessing right until the end! Amazing work!

Wow what a twist!

I’m a big fantasy Romance reader and was apprehensive to read a spooky romance novel, but my god, I loved it! (I hate ghosts and paranormal anything, but this was more intriguing than scary). There was a great twist at the end, and I really liked the FMC. I’ll definitely listen to this one again.

Something different and I was Hooked!

Enjoyed this book. Not sure if the author understands the word "quipped", though. And characters who seem to be able to turn parts of themselves into ghosts seem a bit silly.

good
