Powerful
It is a lovely little novela to understand the story of Adena and Makoto(Mak). I was sobbing at the end of the book and am very curious how Mak is related to this story.

Slow to begin with
Slow to begin with and not much happening at first but I felt the same way about Powerless. Picks ups towards the end and I enjoyed it!

heart breaking, and wonderfully written
Adina made me cry at the end of powerless, and roberts managed to do it again in powerful. I love everything about this book from the needle on the cover to the story.
only remark is that the male narrator has a very slow rythme so if you tend to zone out I d recommend the paper payback over the audio

It was ok
Not as good as powerless not much plot . But the ending was sad and tragic. If anyone in this story deserved a happy ending it was Adina.

Still hurt the second time!
*Possible Powerless Spoilers - recommended not to read if you haven’t read Powerless.
I don’t even know where to begin with this review. I went in being all delulu, pretending I don’t know how this book will end and well I got hit by a train full of reality and ended up crying my eyes out.
Powerful, is the novella to Powerless. In this story we get to witness what Adena got up to and who she got up to with whilst Paedyn entered the Elite Trials. Adena meets mysterious Mac after they both watched their loved ones go to the castle. They must now rely on each other, Mac providing food and Adena, providing a way into the castle for Mac to say goodbye. But what happens when they make it into the castle?
I want to say I didn’t like this because of the emotional wreck this book made me, but it was so good! Adena has captured my heart and I have so much more love for her sunshine self. Mac was incredible! He was so grumpy in the best kind of way and it made me so happy that Adena found someone like him to protect her.
I love Lauren Roberts and her writing. It’s so easy to fall in love with and read. I’m so excited for Reckless in July! I NEED MORE PAE AND KAI!
