Will Anna's grand designs prove just a pipe dream?

Anna, a newly qualified interior designer, has decided it's time to put her money and her expertise where her mouth is. She's risked everything on buying a tiny but adorable cottage so she can renovate it, sell it on, and prove to her family that she can earn her own living.

Great book from Katie as usual.

However the narrator had a lot of ‘inflections’ at the end of sentences which was annoying and a distraction.

Why couldn’t she just read it normally?

A shame as it spoiled the enjoyment.

Easy story to get into, but not my favourite Katie Fforde. The ending feels a bit confusing and quick, like the author is bored of the story and just wants it ended. I think Chloe and Laura should have held Anna to account more.

The narrator has given Anna the most unfortunate voice - high-pitched, breathy, reedy. Difficult to listen because I just don't believe she has any backbone per the plot. Chloe and the others all sound like different version of the same person with a common cold. However, the narration of the prose without voices is nice and easy to listen to.

The story is ok if you get past the men are clever & strong, girls are a bit silly vibe but the narration was very strange, it didn’t flow, it was like someone was reading without understanding what they were saying

lovely escapist stuff... totally improbable as usual and very enjoyable. narrated well and a good length with plenty of twists and turns.

The story was good although the ending was a bit abrupt. I have listened to lots of the Katie fforde books but this narrator is the worst. She is whiney, dragging words at parts and to be honest annoying. If I hadn’t paid for this I would have returned it! I slogged through but her narration spoilt the story. Jilly bond much better. I wish I had bought the book to read instead
