I only chose this book based on a short story written by the author in a compendium release, I couldn’t believe my luck. This author is on my list of future purchases

Best performance in a cultivation book so far with a protagonist that for the most part doesn't act like a idiot the main flaw I have is that and be warned minor spoilers ahead when parts of his secrets get revealed and stuff starts to get real instead of being like ok cats out of the bag now better step up he starts trying to hide his abilitys even more which ends up getting people killed or lets them make mistakes that get in the way of the plot if one of the targets of your mission is here and your surrounded by enemys showing the people treating you like a waste of space your stronger than them and you know what's going on is always the best idea

Very easy to finished this book!

Travis as always provides an amazing realization of the characters and is always a pleasure to listen too.

Michael's story was both enjoyable, meaningful and creative. This is certainly the type of book that favours action which is executed remarkably well. Though that is not to say the character work and plot is bad. Most of the characters felt unique and distinct and the plot was well thought out and engaging. In my honest opinion the writes could have taken a bit more time and spent more time developing these aspects as it really is a strong foundation set here.

Needless to say I recommend this book to anyone interested in this genre. Though prehaps not as an introduction to it.

A Strong Start

The premise for this book (and series) is an interesting one with the MC being sent back to an earlier point in his own timeline in a more personal version of Quantum Leap rather than it strictly being a reincarnation. The combination of the main character being limited by the power level of his younger self while being able to push beyond those limits due to his greater knowledge mostly works really well, but at times can often result in him seeming to be over-powered and hopefully the author will be able to balance this in subsequent books so there is still a challenge.

The narrator's performance is a typically strong one with a good range of distinctive tones for the varied cast of characters.

Overall, a strong start to the series and I will be looking out for further instalments in the future.

what a delightful surprise this book turned out to be, am so glad I got this after I put this in my wishlist and left it there for some time. Do yourself a favour and get this book.
