Summary
What will happen to the Bennet females now that Mr. Bennet has died? With Mr. Tristan Collins on his way from America to claim his property, Mrs. Bennet hatches her plan. The new heir to Longbourn simply must marry one of her daughters. Nothing else will do. Will it be Mary or Kitty singled out for this dubious honor? When the gentleman in question turns out to be quite a catch after all, the contest between the sisters is on. Which one will be the next mistress of Longbourn? Or will a dark horse step in to muddy the picture? Darcy, Elizabeth, and the rest of the Pride and Prejudice cast are back as the socially awkward Mary emerges from the shadows to take center stage in Shannon Winslow's long-awaited sequel to her best-selling novel, The Darcys of Pemberley; Many Austen fans have a soft spot in their hearts for Mary and wonder if she might have the hidden makings of a heroine. Now, in .Return to Longbourn, we learn what really makes her tick. Is she destined to be a governess forever, or will she overcome the misfortune of being 'plain' to find love and her own happy ending? on his way from America to claim his property, Mrs. Bennet hatches her plan. A Fascinating Sequel
I enjoyed listening to this story having often wondered about what might happen to Mary. I found the American expressions horrifying (e.g. ‘pled’ ‘the fall’ for autumn) they grated on my ears but it was an easy listen.

A satisfactory conclusion
I have really enjoyed this sequel. It gave a positive and deserving conclusion to our Bennet sisters and their mother.

Finally Mary Bennet has her happy ending
I really liked this sequel that focuses on Mary Bennet, which is quite "neglected" in Pride and prejudice and seems to be the least fortunate sister. A pleasant read for all Austen's fans.

Wonderful. Does Jane Austen proud
Excellent narrator. Lizzie Darcy especially sounds like Jennifer Ehle's performance of the 1994 tv series. Great writer wish there were more in this series. If you love Pride and Prejudice you'll love this too!! Just one criticism. In England we don't have 'Fall' we have 'Autumn"

It could have been Jane Austen Written!
A really enjoyable follow-on from Pride & Prejudice that was well narrated. And so nice to focus on the ‘forgotten’ daughter.

Very enjoyable
I really rather enjoyed this book! I did wonder at the start where a story about Mary could go, but I was thoroughly caught up in this and much prefer this book to The Darcy’s of Pemberly. The narrator is excellent and her performances in narrating the characters are very reminiscent of the 90’s BBC adaptation, particularly Mrs Bennett.

Delightful!
Having very much enjoyed the Darcys of Pemberley. I was excited to listen to Return to Longbourn and it did not disappoint. Considering, her character in Pride and Prejudice, I thought it very clever how the author made me really root for Mary. The narrator's voice, Marian Hussey, was also perfect. A delight for Austen fans.
