I was after something to help guide me and instil some discipline in my training, and this book definitely delivered that. Shi Heng Yi has a very soothing voice (was tempted to speed up, but didn’t) and covers a lot of ground. There are a lot of components that require practicing, so if like me you listen whilst walking, you’ll find yourself book marking sections and revisiting later.
My only negative - and it’s a very minor one - is that the accompanying PDF isn’t linked to a chapter. So after you’ve finished listening the book, it takes some figuring out where each page corresponds to the book. Most of the poses in the PDF don’t need much guidance, but a simple reference back to a chapter or timestamp would make the PDF a lot easier to use.
Anyhow, that comment aside, I can see myself listening to parts of this book again, Recommend to anyone wanting to explore the Shaolin way.

well put together. makes me realise the importance of mind body spirit connection - on this plane.

this man did a great job in this book. made me understand what it means to have a trained mind - anywhere. in my view is more practical than stoicism, given the training, the roots.

besides my gym and meditation routine, the face massage, the monkey and the tree techniques fits like a glove, for my longevity plan. God damn, I wish it was a second part 🧡 such a nice voice, well grounded. keeps you engaged.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, I was initially apprehensive about being able to grasp concepts but both the delivery of information and condensed insights are combined together and articulated perfectly. A pleasure to listen to and learn about Shaolin Spirit from the Master and imho - truly inspiring - a must listen for anyone on the path or seeking a deeper understanding of self in the world.
