narrator was hopeless at accents., all the women sounded the same and her voice was flat and characterless .

a reasonable story ruined by the narrator

I found the plot line too violent for me, and somewhat unrealistic. Also, I didn't like the reader as I found her dialects too similar and somewhat prejudicial - especially if they were Souff London.
Further, I struggled to get a sense of the lead character, but that could be down to a combination of the author and the reader.

BLOODTHIRSTY/VIOLENT

There was a distinct West Country twang to the narrators accent and the cockney accent just didn’t work! As a narrator in general she was fine but it really detracts the over enjoyment and experience if the narrator doesn’t sound right

Great 📙 couldn't put it down would definitely recommend the series now going on to the 3rd in the series.

Fairly generic crime story - nothing original - police woman - relationship with a villain etc etc. no real personalities. However this may because the narration made them flat and boring. Whilst narrator has a charming voice, the accents are ridiculous and the inflection and tone made it incredibly boring like listening to a children’s story.

First time ive heard a book by this author. overall the storyline was good, however the slow, mainly monotone narration wasn't for me, the drone was enough to send me to sleep despite the story actually being quite gripping in parts.

Couldn’t listen to complete book because the narrator. Shame because I would have liked to have the whole story

Dreadful narration

Our heroine is a bit too much. Childishly so. " and this is why all her team would follow her over a cliff" etc. Get over the head girl meets Billy the Kid character and the book passes some time.
The narration is painful. Precisely enunciated in a voice that belongs to a trainee nun not an easy end cop or gangster. Sorry, but it annoys.
