Very enjoyable

Great story filling in a lot information but adding lots of new ideas too. Very well read by Robert Petkoff as usual.

Classic trek

Fab story, sets up season one of Picard very well adding much needed depth to an old adversary and executing a very absorbing plot.

Great Star Trek story

Excellent story, which I really enjoyed. Performance was brilliant. A bit of a slow start for me but built up well to a great ending. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Excellent read

Loved the story and the performance. The story dragged a little in the middle but the end was worth waiting for. It’d be nice to have another book set just after this one which deals with the Romulan supernova. I recommend this book as a fan of all things Trek.

excelent

enjoyed it,and is without a doubt the best star trek audio book in this series, story is great, sound effects and music are spot on as is the acting, story whilst slow to start is a good one, length of the book is just right for this story and no filler to mention…..

interesting

I wasn't sure to start with but I really got into the story. They really captured Riker and Diana in their mannerisms. great listen, I would recommend it.

Rushed and obvious

As a fan of Star Trek, TNG & Picard and having listened to this books predecessor I was really looking forward to this, especially knowing the focus would be on Captain Riker and the Titan.

I was left feeling disappointed though. The story was enough to keep me listening but it was never spectacular and most of the major plot points were so blatantly telegraphed, although admittedly a non-fan probably wouldn't notice at much as a fan of the various series'.

The middle of the book focused too much on Riker & Troi's son and parts of that section came across as being written for kids despite the overall tone of the book being written for adults, however I will concede that the performance by Robert Petkoff could be responsible for that perception.

The ending was interesting enough, as all the plot threads came together but there was never any real resolution to some of the characters stories which left me feeling a little robbed. Another gripe was the blatant fan service for pointlessly shoving a legacy character in at the end. It added nothing.

It just feels like it was rushed, with little care, a simple narrative and characters that do some strange things despite you knowing them so well as a viewer of the many series'.
