Summary
Creator of Her Majesty Queen Camilla’s favourite fictional detective.
23 million books sold.
‘Peter James is one of the best British crime writers, and therefore one of the best in the world’ - LEE CHILD, author of the Jack Reacher series
Discover the darkness that lurks around every corner in the latest instalment of the award-winning Grace series by Peter James, now a major ITV show starring John Simm.
A ruthless crime. A race against time.
In the dead of night, a farmer confronts the intruders of a break in, having no idea that the encounter will leave him dead. What’s more chilling is the truth of what the perpetrators were willing to kill for.
At the scene, DS Roy Grace senses that this is no mere botched robbery; it’s the tip of the iceberg of a nationwide crime epidemic. Ruthless gangs, operating with military precision, have discovered a new black market flourishing in the shadows – an unthinkable source of wealth even more profitable than drugs.
Grace’s investigation into this deadly trade pits him against people who will kill anyone who gets in their way.
Although the Roy Grace novels can be read in any order, Stop Them Dead is the nineteenth thrilling title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with One of Us is Dead.

Never disappoints
A great subject to cover, especially now, more than ever.
Let’s hope anyone reading this book and thinking about buying a puppy from these horrendous puppy farms, makes them think again after listening to this book.

Superb!
Another great Grace book. Brilliant story & performance. Grace and all his colleagues never disappoint in a story where you are willing the bad guys to fail

Riveting story
Enjoyed every minute of this. Very cleverly put together. Keeps your attention throughout. Kudos for speaking out for voiceless dogs and the misery they are put through in puppy farms. Which for some reason are still legal in this country anyway.

As gripping as ever
The narration by Daniel keeps you engrossed with all the characters so well.
The story itself is a typical rollercoaster of emotion, crime and life that you expect from a Grace novel. This one is quite an emotive story - and whilst hoping for a happy ending for girl in hospital, you know Peter James doesn’t always do happy endings so anything can (and does) happen
You won’t be disappointed by this story or how Grace and the team respond.

Absolutely brilliant as usual
Performance fantastic, I love Daniel Weyman, never ever disappoints. I didn’t think Peter James could possibly outdo all the rest of the Grace series but he has. I hope there will be another before too long!

Good Dog D’été Story
I’m not much interested in dogs but this was an interesting detective story. The story of the girl bitten by the dog with rabies was a bit overstretched I thought. In all a good listen which held my interest to the end

Another great story.
Best book I’ve read for a while. Although it got a bit slow in places, I was invested enough to keep listening. Looking forward to the next one.
