About this listen

When Caleb Chance walked out in Detroit five years ago, leaving his band, millions of his fans and his lover behind, Leo knew he could never forgive.

Some things, no matter what the cause, are unforgivable.

But Leo never expected Caleb to show up again, clean and sober and wanting to get their band, Star Shadow, back together. He definitely never expected to agree to Caleb's plan.

He never expected to confront the love of his life again - or the disaster of his past, the hopelessness of his future, and every terrible thing he's been carrying inside him.

But maybe some things aren't so terrible after all.

Contains mature themes.

Sad and poignant

The story was long and slow - picked up in parts. Narrated brilliantly though - kept the interest going.

Very moving story.

This was at times a gut wrenching story to listen to but it was worth all the tears. Kirt Graves did a wonderful job performing this audiobook.

Terrible Things

The slow burn was too slow I nearly gave up but I'm glad I didn't. The book was great except for the wait of them getting together ❤️. Narration was perfect .

For the first time EVER, I did not want the two main characters to be together!

OMG this book is filled with red flags!! Leo needs intensive therapy! Seriously, he is so co-dependent, weak and pathetic. And Caleb is manipulative. I screamed at the screen more than once and got so angry at Leo for allowing manipulative behaviour, for acting like a child and letting his clearly unhealthy emotions control everything. I could not finish this book. I did not want them to get together.

About 7 hours too long

Well there were some positives to this book. Kirt Graves' delivery was lovely. The characters were likeable but oh my goodness it went on and on and on and nothing really happened. Both boys are a tortured mess but we have no idea why. Their backgrounds went unexamined. The characters tended to be very one-dimensional either goodies or baddies. Everyone just sat around yearning for someone els and none did anything about it. Should have been a short story.
