There's a strange and wonderful event - the South African Million Dollar Pigeon Race - that each year draws pigeon fanciers to Johannesburg from around the globe. They're an odd, eccentric group, united only by their love of and obsession with their birds, who will fly more than 300 miles to complete the Million Dollar and then never race again.
