Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Sharpen your instincts in a world full of uncertainty and risk.

The training to become a fighter pilot is among the most competitive and difficult in the world with fewer than one-in-a-thousand succeeding. Pushing a cutting-edge jet to its limits at over 1,000 mph means that every split-second decision can have catastrophic consequences. Throughout his high-pressure career in the cockpit of the world's most advanced and expensive weapons systems, Hasard Lee learned to master skills at the apex of decision-making theory and practice.

Now he shares gripping firsthand accounts from his time as a fighter pilot, and distills what he's learned into a powerful ACE Helix framework that can be used in business and in life, revealing how to:

• LEARN BETTER AND FASTER

• CULTIVATE MENTAL TOUGHNESS

• DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO QUICKLY ASSESS, CHOOSE, AND EXECUTE

• AND MUCH, MUCH MORE

These combat-tested techniques have already benefitted CEO's, astronauts, CIA agents and many others, and now The Art of Clear Thinking will enable anyone to perform at their peak.

Fascinating from start to finish

This book is fascinating. From start to finish there are parallels to be drawn between the role of a fighter pilot and the thinking we could all adopt in business.

Highly recommend

practical and useful

Really enjoyed the book and found some really useful practical techniques to apply to everyday life.

I also found the authors stories about his time in combat fascinating so im really hoping he reads this and does another book based on his experiences in Afghanistan and Iraq.

An interesting and thought provoking book

I found this by book easy to listen to through the intonation used by the author, it’s always nice to hear the authors voice delivering the story as intended. He uses great real world examples to highlight the challenges in making decisions under pressure and in complex scenarios. The analysis used to break down the problem of making good decisions is intriguing and exercises your own thoughts on “what would I do?” As a fellow aviator, I can very much relate to the aspects covered by the author. This book is certainly a valuable read for those wishing to develop their own critical thinking for the challenges of life.

This book helped us, thankyou

Although we are not fighter pilots, this book helped me and my wife through our IVF journey. We were able to apply the clear thinking theories in this book to staying calm during the process. We now have a beautiful little boy, thankyou
