Summary

The complete Black Market DNA series in one box set, filled with fast-paced action, scientific intrigue, and criminal conspiracies.

In near-future Baltimore, scientific breakthroughs in genetic engineering promise to cure the incurable. But these new technologies are not without a dark side. Powerful criminal organizations thrive on peddling illicit genetic wares, waging an underground war unlike any the city has ever seen.

Seeking to make amends for his checkered past, Christopher Morgan starts a new job as a genetic engineer. But after his boss is brutally murdered, he finds himself in the middle of a terrifying conspiracy. A mysterious criminal organization has him in their crosshairs, and he doesn’t know why. In a perilous race against time, he realizes far more is at stake than just his own life.

A genetically engineered and unstoppable cancer spreads through Baltimore’s citizens. Doctor Robin Haynes is used to dealing firsthand with unforgiving diseases, but this one is unlike any she has faced. When every medical tool at her disposal fails, she becomes desperate for a cure. But what Robin discovers about the cancer is even more startling than she could have imagined.

The lives of thousands, maybe millions, are in jeopardy. With the body count rising, only Chris and Robin can find who is responsible and put a stop to these twisted, destructive biomedical mysteries.

The Black Market DNA Series Box Set includes a special bonus, Fatal Injection, a prequel story to the series.

Who doesnt love a nasty bad guy.

In to the future we go and genetic enhancments are common place, both legall and illegal and when something is illegal you know it comes with a dangerous underground. A former black market dealer wants to go straight but is being blackmailed but to do what he doesnt know. It makes for an interesting story. What sort of enhancements are out there, how can it go wrong, whose in control, what do the police know, and dozens of other questions get asked as we explore a world that may one day come to pass.

The characters are interesting but also unlikeable. The main character is a whiny woe is me type who doesnt develope any redeeming traights for quite a while. His love interest is obvious and its hgard to take a liking to her either, but likeable or not they are well written for their roles and the support cast are solid, but its the bad guys who really stand out. Finally, villains you don't want to meet, and the story takes off when they start to come out of the wood work.

The plot, well, we have seen similar before. Tech companies looking for ways to take control of the market, the police, the government, and kill anyone who gets in their way, but variations on a theme are always good and this was an entertaining story.

The narration is good. Well paced, naturally spoken, easy t listen to with different characters easily distinguishable and the right tones to set the mode at any particular moment.

At times you'll be screaming for someone, anyone, to put an end to the whining, at other times you'll mind will want to hide from the acts inflicted on others. You may even end up routing for the bad guys. Well, maybe one of them.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
