This book covers bitcoin’s blocksize war, which was waged from August 2015 to November 2017. On the surface, the battle was about the amount of data allowed in each bitcoin block, however it exposed much deeper issues, such as who controls bitcoin’s protocol rules. It is not possible to cover every twist and turn in the labyrinthine conflict or all the arguments, but I have provided a chronology of the most significant events. This book explores some of the major characters in the conflict and includes coverage, from both the front lines and behind the scenes, during some of the most acute phases of the struggle. The account in this book includes discussions with the key players from both sides during the war, exploring their motivations, strategy and thought processes as the exhausting campaign progressed and developed.

The profound impact of bitcoins decentralisation excludes the most vested, the biggest hodlers, the biggest corporates and most prominent developers from manipulating it for any reason, nefarious or well intentioned.

compulsory reading for any Bitcoin maxi or bitcoiner that needs to know the history of Bitcoin and what is meant by the UASF acronym. its not an easy read but worth it. I also thought it interesting how it reveals the old school mind set of the big corps and arrogant individuals who thought they could dictate the future of Bitcoin and the fact it didn't work that way today is because of his this war was won by individuals who understood the huge importance of freedom. Thank God for therm or we would all be truly enslaved today!

Interesting story. Definitely helped us to understand the bitcoin and crypto world a lot better beyond the general basics.

Quite a bit of jargon and can be slightly complicated if you know little to nothing about crypto.

What was also interesting is the clear perspectives on how humans can behave when they are wealthy or want to be in the position of power.

Great way to learn more about the background of bitcoin and crypto compared to where it is now.

The author is heavily biased towards the “small-blockers” and regularly implies that anyone who disagrees with them is an idiot.

The reality is, without larger blocks, BTC has no real utility—don’t let the dollar price (fuelled by speculation, not by adoption) fool you.

Fortunately, all hope is not lost while BTC is still only a hard fork away from big blocks.
