About this listen

The BRAND NEW spellbinding historical novel from bestseller Elena Collins, perfect for fans of Weyward, Outlander and Barbara Erskine

A haunting cliffside inn. A centuries-old secret waiting to be uncovered...

Now: When Megan’s father gets a letter containing a secret from the past, he asks her to go to the Cornish village of St Mawgen Cove to get to the bottom of the mystery. Megan is happy to take a holiday after a challenging year but as soon as she checks into The Ship Inn something feels amiss. There are noises in the room above, the locals tell tales of smugglers and shipwrecks and she can’t escape the story of the witch who waits and watches from the top of the cliff.

1625: Susanna and her daughter Katel live a contented life, but without the protection of a husband and father, Susanna fears for Katel’s future as she blossoms into womanhood. The fishing community of St Mawgen Cove is close knit but when misfortune arrives in the cove, it’s not long before villagers are looking for someone to blame. And when talk turns to witches, Susanna knows she and Katel are no longer safe.

Can Megan bring peace to St Mawgen and to two women who have been broken-hearted for centuries?

An unforgettable historical mystery about secrets, longing and the power of a mother’s love. Love Lucinda Riley and Kate Mosse? READ THIS!

'The emotionally powerful story of Katherine Ferrers really gripped me and the spooky sightings of her ghost were spine-tingling. Elena writes so beautifully and weaves the threads of the stories together so masterfully. Both heartbreaking and hopeful, it’s a brilliant read.' Nicola Cornick

'A wonderful book by a fabulous author. Very highly recommended.’ Louise Douglas

'The Lady of The Loch held me spellbound from the first page to the last. With two storylines beautifully woven together to create a seamless tale of love, loss, betrayal and, above all, hope, it’s a must-read. Collins’s detailed knowledge of the period trickles through the tale wrapping the reader in a vivid shifting world as it moves between the 14th century and present day. Cleverly researched and exquisitely written, The Lady of The Loch is a timeless story of hope, family and love. I loved it.' Alexandra Walsh

Elena Collins has a great way of telling an interesting tale and it's obvious that she carried out a great deal of research, which is successfully woven into this many stranded story. Well done to the narrators for bringing the writer's words to life. I was there every step of the way during the narration of this memorable tale.

The stories of the 21st century and the 17th century, were equally gripping! And the supernatural element was deliciously chilling! Elena Collins is a gifted storyteller and the narrators brought all the characters vividly to life. Highly recommended.

An Outstanding audiobook!

Predictable in places… especially the ending but overall it was an exciting and enjoyable story.

Engaging listen

Inconsistencies, blatantly!

Jackdaws have blue eyes, not black.

You can’t ’dawn patrol’ everyday as there’s something called tides and wind direction that affect how waves are made. Not to mention that tides are roughly one hour later each day.

Black Cohosh is not native to the UK and being native to North America it wasn’t foraged for in 17th century Kernow.

Shockingly bad pronunciation by both readers had me laughing which I don’t assume was the intention of the author.

St Mawgan confused with Mawgan Porth

Dangerous essential oils, lots of repetition and clearly confusion early on between snorkelling and scuba diving. Even more crystal research was needed.

Over all it could’ve been good but just super lazy research and very formulaic writing.

An entertaining yaaaaaawnfest!

That’s a few hours I won’t get back
