I really enjoyed this book but not as much as Elena Collins other historical fiction books.
Well read by both actors.
Very atmospheric but lacked the normal redemption...

Good Read

This is a captivating tale which I could not stop listening to as the reader is persuaded by Kate of her means to survive a loveless penniless marriage and to live a little on her own terms, which was denied women of the 17th Century.
I rushed through the modern story that runs in parallel just to get back to the main story of Kate, the Wicked Lady.

Beautifully written tale

I loved the idea of the book, but felt that the woman reading it was a little robotic. I liked the atmosphere of the story and the way it unfolded, but found the ending quite disappointing. I usually enjoy this authors books, but genuinely felt that she just wanted to get this one finished and done with.

Good Premise

The story was a bit wet and the narrators were very false. A disappointment after her other books.

Not nearly as good as her other books

Expected great things after ‘the witches tree’ by the same author. Sadly disappointed; think the author got bored towards the end and rushed to finish. So many unanswered questions and threads left hanging. Historical inaccuracies and simple things that weren’t properly researched (facial markings on horses, colours of crystals). The author really needed to make her mind up on the dog’s breed too.

Waste of a credit ….

Too many unanswered questions

It was badly written , poorly narrated and such a poor storyline i could not finish it .

It was terrible

How disappointing. The story was disjointed with very little connection between one time and the other. I am unsure if the stilted speech was the way the story was written or the way the narrators told it but it was awkward and did not flow. Both narrators did little to bring the story to life, the heavy sighing from the male narrator was beyond irritating

Disappointing
