I enjoyed this book but a brain teaser it is not.

the main chars are fun, the world is interesting but this needed a lot more meat to the story

Stumbled across the first in the series by accident, I do think it had the better story but that is often the way, perhaps as you have fewer preconceived expectations. Would have liked a touch more development of established characters but the story was compelling and all in all a nice bit of light listening in a well constructed world, if you liked the first one I am sure you will enjoy this too.

I would have liked this story, the beginning was good, the end was good, the middle was painful. Spoilers but someone's brother dies and his family don't know who did it. The guy is a drone expert. Then someone else dies in a room only accessible by drone. Then they interrupt another murder being carried out by a drone-like creature.

It's like the author was waving a massive flag at who the murderer was and then you have the remaining 80% of the book with the main characters being oblivious. Made me want to scream to be honest. I really liked this series to start with and I'm curious how it'll play out but I can't bring myself to read more after this one.
