About this listen

A decade ago, the Lullaby Man preyed upon young girls in Tallman's Valley. He stole into their lives, whispered in their ears, spoke of love.

Abby Wakeland was 14 then. Now 24, she's found the courage to tell her mother - Senior Detective Kate Wakeland - about what happened.

The Lullaby Man was her teacher.

What Abby reveals next will lead Kate down dark, twisting tunnels of discoveries that will blow this small town apart.

Thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. Excellent plot and detective work in the story line. Just Abi’s voice that grated a bit.

Really good Australian series

As always, Anni Taylor has produced an enthralling read yet again. She is my recent 'best author '. Although, the Scottish accent was terrible.

GREAT GREAT GREAT

I thought the story was good although possibly a little long, I lost interest towards the end but over all a good listen

The dreadful Scottish accent unfortunately

I enjoyed this story and the narration (just struggled a bit with the ‘Scottish’ accent)

Good follow up The Last Child

Another great book by my new found author. I really enjoyed the storyline. It kept me guessing til the end.
Another great performance by Caroline, although the Scottish accent needs some work! can't wait for the next book.

I’m thoroughly enjoying this series and have just downloaded the next installment. It’s refreshing to see an older woman take the lead, bringing depth and originality to the story. The plot is packed with twists and turns that keep the suspense alive, making for a truly compelling read. Caroline Lee’s narration is, as always, outstanding—I find her voice enhances the storytelling beautifully. Anni Taylor has now earned a well-deserved place on my list of favourite authors! Well worth a credit.

Great book

Enjoyed listening good story the narration fine except the Scottish accent wasn’t great. Look forward to the next book.

Great leading character

The story and writing are mostly very good. For me there are too many ‘in my chest’ and ‘in my mind’, which probably wouldn’t be as noticeable on the page. But, for me, the appalling Scottish accent of one of the main characters was a blight. It’s far more Irish than Scottish but it’s awful either way. Someone should have noticed it and changed it to Irish in the script!

Another very good story

loved this 3rd book in the tallman valley series can't wait to read the next one...
i have to say one negative thing I found this book the Scottish accent reader was absolutely horrendous .....an insult to Scottish people..

excellent read ...leaves you wanting more

I couldn’t get into this at first but wanted to persist as I liked the first book
And in the end it didn’t disappoint lots of great twists and turns and interesting how good detection can come from the smallest of little leads
I like the narrator but agree with others the Scottish accents are a wee bit painful
Fortunately not too many Scottish characters in the book 😉

Absorbing read
