Books like this are proof that they are always better than the movie adaptation. In this case, it is miles better, although the added prologue at the end felt unneeded.

I really enjoyed this one, I read it on a recommendation from a friend with the film upcoming. There's just enough science in there for it to feel really believable as if it could happen but not to ground the possibilities of where it can go. It's a shame the second one is not yet available on audio because it would be an automatic purchase for me.

Highly enjoyable, though over the top story. Not life changing in any way, but a good way to while away some hours on the road. Nicely read by Sean Runnette.

OK so I watched the movie, which was great fun, but this book is SO MUCH BETTER and has now spoilt the movie for me.
Why couldn't the screen writers even loosely follow the book.
This book is just the right side of scary and funny, the characters are believable and the Meg is just terrifying.
A great book can't wait to hear the others in the series.

this is so much better then the film, what a shame. although the book is quite misogynistic... which is a real let down. the overall story and science is great. they picked the WORSE narrator though. thought I felt he was perfect for Jonas.

I really enjoyed this and to be honest I felt like I've learnt alot about the for mentioned shark and the trench it came from. it's well written with some good characters and a fantastic ending to the monster.

I really enjoyed this book far superior to the film wish I had discovered it before I watched the film. Well read and a good story I sometimes got a bit confused as to what was happening, but that was probably my fault as my listening can be a bit spasmodic thank good ness for replay. Took me by surprise that the prequel novel (written after “Meg”) was added at the end this was great and filled in some background to the initial novel.

I first read this book years ago when it came out and decided to give the audiobook a listen after watching the film adaption. I forgot how enjoyable it was. Highly recommend this title for shark fans.
