I’ve been sitting on this book for some years knowing it was the last, it wasn’t one of his best but I still enjoyed it. It’s sad to know we will not see any more tales of Sean after this. It has been a pleasure reading Jack Higgins work. R.I.P.

Another masterpiece by Jack Higgins

I have been looking forward to this book for a long time. The book is not only slow to start but laborious all the way through. There are many new characters who add very little to the story and appear to be padding to lengthen the story. It would appear that when a new character appears one or more of the original characters tell of their previous glories, this happens many times. I was going to give the narrator a hard time but there are so many characters that finding a different voice must be difficult.
There also appears to be plots from previous stories used again.

I will be giving Sean Dillon no 23 a miss
