Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
A missing patient is a hospital ward's worst nightmare - until even more people disappear.
Senior Midwife Lucy Ryuan is used to guiding expectant mothers through pregnancy. But when two kidnappings and a vicious stabbing happen on her watch, her focus abruptly changes. Something has to be done, and Lucy is fearless enough to try. As rumours and accusations fly around Manhattan, Lucy teams up with a sceptical NYPD detective to solve the case. But the truth is far more twisted than either of them could ever have imagined.

It was ok
Not one of the better ones, never really got going. The main character wasn’t very likeable.

Great story
some of the narrators accents were pretty questionable and it came across slightly monotone

Gripping
What a story many twists and turn but as usual Mr. Patterson doesn't disappoint. I enjoyed the way Lucy told the story and it was believable.

Midwife murders
Good plot but I found the performance grating. As an English Midwife, rather appauled by the American health care system. Glad I worked on this side of the pond.
