I'm a fan of the apocalypse genre, and there's some great ideas here. I just feel like the characters lack depth so I don't have much empathy for them. I found myself not minding too much if a character got eaten or shot to death.
The author also does way too much word repetition, which drives me insane. For example, "Lee found the door, he went through the door and closed the door behind him".

I'm so into this series. I've heard all the first books in a row and I don't want to stop. The pacing is so brilliant! Good storyline. Fun characters. Great narration as well.

I'm quite hooked on this series. It continues to develop with new characters emerging or appearing and the storyline rattles along with gusto. There is also time to slip in small sections with deepen our understanding of some characters. Performance is just as dynamic as ever. On to the next book!

The plot and characters develop well and the narrator is excellent.
