Repetative Story

I first read this book as a girl more than 50 years ago and loved it but as an adult I found the spoken story meandering and the narration intensely irritating. Sorry to say that but i couldn't listen to another audiobook involving the same narrator.

Horrendous narration

Read this story as a teenager, as an adult it is a bit of a nostalgia trip and Holt's story telling is noticeably more clunky than I remembered. However, the narration is truly awful, strange emphasis in odd places, dull and in the end unlistenable. Gave up by Chapter 4.
