About this listen

She is abandoned by all evil spirits.

Instead of cutting the prince's throat, she simply let him go. Now she is supposed to bend the knee before King Tedore in the throne room. Not with her. Never. Better to kill standing than to live kneeling.

The swordmaster is in the late autumn of his life, far from home, fleeing from his guilt. A deceased son, a lost daughter, a forfeited title. What remains is to sit on the beach and count the waves. Then the old swordmaster rises and sets out on his last great journey.

Terrible events lead to terrible losses. The war between Prince Schohtar and King Tedore Marein divides the realm. In a world whose deep shadows leave little room for light, the struggle for survival begins for Karek and his comrades.

Another fabulous story in the series

Love these books, my only criticism is that when listening the narrator becomes very loud with shouting, not helpful if you're listening at night! Also he does kind of sound like siri! The only other downfall is that there are only 3 of the 6 available on audio books, any idea when the 4th will be available?

Loving the series, but…

Great story and characters - helping me drift away from the days’ realities - however there are issues with the narration volume. Very shouty, too shouty and almost distorted in places, so you have to keep fiddling with volume buttons. Won’t put me off getting book 3 though.

Another great tale

I really enjoy these books. I can’t wait to start on the next one.
There was a problem with the audio quality though. The sound would become distorted whenever the narrator raised his voice. It was quite uncomfortable to hear.

Another fantastic story

This is the second audible book I’ve listened to recently that has employed an American to do an English accent narration. Daniel is pretty good and has a lovely voice.. but, like the other narrator, there are certain pronunciations that are just weird and it’s a bit discombobulating. The sound levels are also a bit off as when the character is shouting its startlingly loud and then too quiet to hear at normal levels. Anyway, all that aside, I loved the Gravediggers son series and now thoroughly enjoying this series.
