About this listen

When Horus fell, his Sons fell with him. A broken Legion, beset by rivalries and hunted by their erstwhile allies, the former Luna Wolves have scattered across the tortured realm of the Eye of Terror. And of Abaddon, greatest of the Warmaster's followers, nothing has been heard for many years. Until now....

The writing by Aaron Dembski-Bowden, paired with Jonathan Keeble, who gives the best performance I have heard to date, makes for an exciting and captivating listen. The story is told through the recollection of our protagonist Iskandar Khayon which (through excellent writing) gives us a more grounded glimpse into what life in the eye entails. In addition, the audience is treated to a simple but powerful understanding of the nature of the immaterium.
In some ways, I think this book would be a great starting point for those that have recently set out exploring the grim darkness of the far future. But certainly also holds value to those who are well versed in 40K lore.
There are some battles described herein, but it never subtracts from the story. Something I can not say for some other stories set in this universe.
Either way, If you are a 40K fan, I can not recommend another book more than Talon of Horus.

Excellent storytelling, with a fantastic reader!

Incredibly well written, must read/listen for Warhammer fans everywhere. Provides a brilliant origin to the rise of Abaddon following the Heresy.

After Dan Abnett, I have to say, AD-B is without question my favourite WH40k author. His character development is A+ and he breathes new lore into what is such a fantastic universe. Bring on the sequel - and hopefully the third in the trilogy isn't too far off!

AD-B at his finest
