I liked this story from a historical and informative point of view. We'll worth a listen.

What stood out for me was the utter inefficiency of the investors. They were bought off.

Gripping true story, well told.. but the narrator really ought to give up on the Liverpudlian accent.
It sounds like a cross between Yorkshire/Lancashire/Irish/Scottish!!

This is an interesting book, making the case for the author's own theory of the infamous Wallace case. It is well researched, and makes its argument well, whether you believe his theory or not. The narration is fine, except when any accent is called for, not just Liverpudlian but others as well. Initially, this is odd, but as the book goes on it becomes incredibly irritating.

I enjoyed this story on the whole but as others have said it would be better for the story teller not to try and use accents he‘s not very good at. Having said that it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.

From the beginning this audiobook has some details which make the circumstances surrounding the crime intriguing. The story of what happened is told really well, the facts of the case are laid out and possible explanations explored. The narrator has a lovely voice.

I don’t know where to begin to describe how awful the narration is. The book is set in Liverpool, but is narrated by someone with no discernible accent. He gives the characters various accents, none of which are remotely as they ought to be. Furthermore, he makes the people sound unintelligent and deranged.

I found it impossible to take the book seriously when the producers of the audiobook have clearly not taken the decision about the Narrator seriously.

The story is probably okay if you can bring yourself to listen to it. I struggled through, but after many years of Audible membership, the stand-out feature of the book is how dire it sounded.

For the love of God, can we please find Narrators with appropriate accents. It’s the vocal equivalent of black face.

So good to get a new book on a very interesting classic of a murder whodunit.....Charles bravo, constance Kent.....right up there with them.
Ordinary becomes extraordinary....

There's lots of detail here, a lot of it documented already, at least from what I've read from previous books.
It's a strange one, this case and I still can't say I have a clue who committed this deed....
It's all down to timing, who was right and could have been wrong, considering who wore or could afford a watch.
Mmm.
Anyway, don't like the narrator, not a natural here. Was he reading from a script then threw it away.,? No affinity with the subject matter and Lord, the accents were appalling.
This took place in Liverpool...... Not Lancashire.
A bit disappointing.... Best thing.. A new look at this.
Worst thing....yes, the head master of a narrator,.
