About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Thomas Cale has been running from his enemies. Raised and trained in an underground programme - the Sanctuary - he was sent to destroy God's greatest mistake, mankind itself.
Cale is a paradox: arrogant and innocent, generous and pitiless. Feared and revered by those that created him, he has already used his terrifying talent for violence and destruction to bring down the most powerful civilisation in the world.
But Thomas Cale has been caught. He's been given a choice. Bring down the world's best hope for order, for honesty and for progress, or condemn his soul to hell.
The fate of humankind rests on Cale's decision.

Initially I wasn’t sure if I liked the change of pace and setting but as the characters grew on me, and the anticipation of the big secret reveal started to build I found I enjoyed this as much as the rest of the tales of Cale. Paul Hoffman is such a great writer, I would read anything he produces in the future. The way the style of his writing changes so much for this book, but I find it equally enjoyable as his original three books is almost unique to me. The only authors I have enjoyed so much, that are capable of changing their literary style in this way are Joe Abercrombie and Stephen King. I can’t this recommend audiobook enough.
Sean Barrett is simply my favourite audiobook narrator.
Stop reading these reviews, if you have not already listened to or read the Left Hand of God Trilogy, do so now. If, you enjoyed those, this is just as great and fresh as they were at the time of release. Don’t start with the “White Devil”, you will be lost and if you haven’t read the original books for sometime I would revisit them before starting this or some of the context that makes this book so great will be missed, if your memory is as crappy as mine.
Either way please purchase so Paul will continue to write and I can continue to enjoy his work.

I've read it 3 or 4 times.
So when I saw a new book was out that followed on from the trilogy (I kept checking for years to see if Paul Hoffman would release a new book) I was really excited to read this.
Even though I thought a new book to be unnecessary I was still very excited. but what a massive let down, just a totally dreadful book. Very unsatisfying story, awfully written & a book I could have done without waisting my time on. 1 out of 10. but Great narrator.
I loved the original trilogy
