Summary

Victoria Barnett has it all: a great career as a nurse practitioner, a handsome and loving husband, a beautiful home in the suburbs, and a plan to fill it with children. Life is perfect—or so it seems. Then she’s in a terrible accident...and everything falls apart. Now Victoria is unable to walk. She can’t feed or dress herself. She can’t even speak. She is confined to the top floor of her house with 24-hour care.

Sylvia Robinson is hired by Victoria’s husband to help care for her. But it turns out Victoria isn’t as impaired as Sylvia was led to believe. There’s a story Victoria desperately wants to tell...if only she could get the words out. Then Sylvia discovers Victoria’s diary hidden away in a drawer. And what’s inside is shocking.

Why so many good reviews?!

I’m over half way through and unsure if I can finish this. Perhaps it’s just the fact it’s an audio book but it’s driving me mad. Why does Victoria sound like a breathy Disney character? Why is Sylvie so ignorant and stupid?

Expected more

The narration wasn’t wonderful I’m afraid and the writing felt immature for the majority of the story. There were twists and turns but they were predictable and often unbelievable to the story which gave the rest less credibility. Really disappointed with the read given the previous ratings and reviews. Just my opinion! Sorry!

Brilliant but

warning if you've had trauma or partner abuse it can be a bit uncomfortable at points so just bring aware

I don't think I could feel less sympathy

I don't think I could feel less sympathy than (spoilers) the characters wronged in this story. It really grates on me when people are flashed all sorts of warning signs and just continue walking head on into a bad situation.
