About this listen

A Court of Thorns and Roses meets Game of Thrones in the first book in a sensational new romantasy series where a headstrong princess is kidnapped by the alpha of a werewolf clan, leading to all-out war, and forbidden romance...

When a princess is kidnapped by an alpha, war rages between the humans and the wolves. But soon, forbidden attraction starts to grow…

Princess Aurora longs to escape the castle and the marriage that has been arranged for her.

But on the night before her wedding, at a dog fight where captured werewolves are made to fight for sport, she spares the life of a young wolf. It puts her on the radar of the powerful alpha who was going to kill him. And it changes everything.

That night, when the alpha escapes, he kidnaps her and takes her to the rugged lands north of the border—where the once warring werewolf clans are beginning to unite. He thinks that she is the key to winning the war against the humans.

It’s a brilliant gripping story that got more exciting as the story went on.
The voice of Callum though, he could just be reading a shopping list and I would give him 5 stars. 🥵

Fantastic story, even better narration

Really good read but shame it didn't feel like a duet.
The story is worth it and most of the narration is great but...
Blake needed his own narrator, it took me out of the world when she started speaking as him and considering he's one of the main characters it stopped me from enjoying the book in the end.

Great story but Blake's voice...

An engrossing story line of the interaction between man and wolf. I sincerely hope that this story is continued in another book or books.

Invention of the world of the wolves was fascinating.

Great book and audio - can’t wait for second book to be available on audio. Fun to listen to.

I absolutely adored this book 10/10. The only thing that annoyed me with the audio was that Blake didn’t have his own narrator. Considering he is a main character in the story and is clearly going to be a potential love interest, it made no sense for only Callum to have his own narrator. It really ruined it that they used the female narrator for Blake. I understood for the other male characters but so wish Blake had his own.

Wish Blake had his own narrator too

I just want to first say that the story is amazing and so worth a read. However, I’m not sure why this is classed as duet narration. The only character Shane East narrates is Calum. Everyone else, even Blake (why???) is narrated by Zara Hampton-Brown. Super disappointing and I DNF’d as it completely put me off. If you enjoy dual narration I’m sure you’ll like it. I will reread the book before the next book.

Story so fab, but..

It’s not only really boring, but both of the main characters are so annoying. Too much internal and repetitive monologue, characters are selfish and self centred (and not in a good way).

Most annoying character

It was okay, the idea was great but the characters seem to lack depth even with adding internal conflict it just doesn't work. Aurora's personal struggle and suppoed growth doesn't work. Callums character unfortunately is one dimensional and doesn't connect with the reader. We have a lack of plot and back story which I think will be added in more books but more is needed to entice the reader into the main characters. Blakes character has the most depth and resonates with the reader.
Slow burn romance I think it's supposed to be but it's a slow burn everything sadly. The spicy seems to be there for the sake of it and doesn't quite work with the characters personality's. It's a shame as the idea was brilliant it just didn't work. Hopefully if there are more books to this series the author can expand on the characters personalities and rather than the story being a bit disjointed (seemed like the author was unsure on where they wanted the story to go) can focus on the characters and expand the story. The reason maybe to create a series and delve into the characters in future books but this book just seemed like ideas put down and not a story nor MFC readers can get behind.

Great audible performance and loved the duet but sadly the Book wasn't great.
