About this listen
A Warhammer 40,000 audio drama collection.
Mankind rightly rules the galaxy - but there are many aliens who would see that reign end, from the savage orks to the subtle aeldari....
Discover the ways in which many of the Imperium's alien enemies wage war across a collection of full-cast audio dramas that showcase the aeldari, the orks and the T'au Empire.
Many are the xenos foes who plague mankind's Imperium. Ancient races which once ruled the galaxy, such as the aeldari and necrons, lurk in the darkness, awaiting their chance to reclaim what was once theirs. Younger races like the upstart T'au Empire grow in power and influence, ever eager to topple humanity and take their place. And across the galaxy, the savage orks wage brutal war, fighting all in their path simply for the joy of battle. This audio drama anthology contains eight tales of the aeldari, the orks and the T'au Empire. From the adventures of a greenskin mekaniak and his madcap entourage to a journey into a shattered aeldari craftworld and a tale of a war-damaged t'au bent on revenge, each of these immersive audio dramas will give you new insights into the aliens of the 41st Millennium.

It is like listening to a film that has no picture. Part of the story are then missed, which would, in a normal audiobook, be completed by either narration or descriptive text that seems to be missing.

Not as good as an audiobook

There is one story centred on imperial guard, but they're fighting an ork opponent. Good story, but one could have gone for a more xeno-focused story one for the xenos collection.
The ork stories are good destructive fun.
The eldar stories are tinged with poetry and loss.
The Tau story features excellent tactics, determination, and vengeance.
A few stories from (mostly) xenos perspective

-Ork first. really good story and very well made.
-Eldar second. Alright but nothing special.
-Eldar again. Little better.
-Ork mech boys. back to the orks really enjoyed.
-Imperial guard. not sure why this one is here on a xenos collection but is a very good story.
-Tua. Was nice to get something different. Good story, sound design and performance.
-Eldar again. Think I just don't enjoy eldar much but might be done to not knowing much about the lore round them.
-Eldar once again. Was a much better story then the other eldar stories. Really like the voice acting.
Good but mainly eldar

The eldar stories were frankly a disappointment. The stories were Ok, but some of the dialogue seemed very forced for some of the situations they were in, not least making Elrad (an famously genius) sound like a moron, asking other characters for explanations purely for plot exposition.
Also the sound effects were often distracting and oddly out of place (the worst ofender being the seagulls in the realm of slaanesh....)
Still, fun if you enjoy 40k, not sure I'd pick it up otherwise.
some good some bad
