About this listen
A nerve-shredding suspense thriller from best-selling author Nick Louth. Trapped is perfect for fans of Cara Hunter, JP Delaney and Rachel Abbott.
In Manchester, two hardened gang members on the run take Catherine Blake and her one-year-old son hostage at gunpoint. She is in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Held in a Transit van, Catherine needs a plan fast. But it means diving into her captors’ risk-drenched world, and playing them at their own game.
Catherine has been through cancer, miscarriages and five draining years of IVF in order to have her son Ethan. He is the most precious thing in the world. She may be terrified out of her wits, but she’d do anything to protect him. Anything, no matter the cost....
Brace yourself.

Kept me interested the whole time
Very good story, well written and kept me absorbed right to the end which had a really good, surprising twist.
On the downside, I found the narrator’s accent off putting and when he impersonated a Scottish accent it would lapse into American! Worth a listen though but would be better read.

Dreadful narrator
A pretty decent story absolutely spoiled by the male narrator who sounded as though he had not slept for the last 24 hours.

Good story - dragged out
Took a good few chapters before it got interesting - also Scottish people do not refer to every female as lassie - very annoying should you happen to be Scottish, which I am, and no one has ever addressed me as lassie.

Narration improves when speeded up
As with the other reviews the narrator has an uninterested voice but it improved when I speeded it to 1.2 speed

Great story, terrible male narration
I found that listening on 1.15-1.25 speed, made the male narration a lot better.
Overall a good book and with better narration would be so much better.

Kept the attention from start to finish (and I liked the narration!)
I was really surprised to see other reviews critical of the narration, because I thought it was authentic and appropriate, matched to the setting.
The story kept me gripped from start to finish. At one level, it is a tale of a few characters who are easy to understand and empathise with, each of whom has a relevant back story.
At the end of the book, the turn of events is really nicely described and I must admit that I really enjoyed it. You’ll need to get to the end to find out what I’m talking about :-)

Good storyline
But dreadful narration. As others have said the male narrator really does spoil the book. It’s the worst narration I’ve ever heard. I was all for giving up and returning it. I’m glad I persisted because it did grate less on the nerves the more I listened. The females northern accents are also dreadful people up north don’t all have the IQ of a slug! I live around Manchester so was interested In the story around the Moss side Maffia

Narration!
I liked the twist in the plot, great story but I found the male narration was such a disapointment as he seemed to drag and drone. To compensate I sped time up to 1.15 and 1.20 at times, I have never needed to do this before. In retrospect I will read other reviews because I always choose my reads on the storyline.

Awful narrator
Really good story totally spoilt by the annoying narrator. Cant think of another time when i have felt like giving up because his voice irritated me so much. Real shame would avoid anything narrated by him in the future
