TWO STRANGERS, A CHILD, AND A SPLIT SECOND CHOICE THAT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING . . .

Ellen was just trying to help a stranger. That was how it started: giving a few minutes respite to a flustered young mother sitting opposite her on the train. A few minutes holding her baby while the mother makes an urgent call. The weight of the child in her arms making Ellen's heart ache for what she can never have.

Five minutes pass.
Ten.

The train pulls into a station and Ellen is stunned to see the mother hurrying away down the platform, without looking back. Leaving her baby behind. Ellen is about to raise the alarm when she discovers a note in the baby's bag, three desperate lines scrawled hastily on a piece of paper:

Please protect Mia
Don't trust the police
Don't trust anyone

Why would a mother abandon her child to a stranger? Ellen is about to discover that the baby in her arms might hold the key to an unspeakable crime. And doing the right thing might just cost her everything . . .

I loved this book, as I have with all of TM’s other books & it had me gripped from the start.
I really wanted to comment on the actress who read this though- she was absolutely phenomenal. Her accents were so consistent & believable and her male voices truly remarkable. I’m going in search of other books read by her just for the performance!

Outstanding reading!

I only listened for an hour and had to return the audio book unfortunately.
the story and plot seems good, however I didn't enjoy the narrating at all.
such a shame 😞

Good plot. not great narrator

Incredibly enjoyable story and the ending did shock me! Absolutely adored listening to it and the narrator is fantastic! I sometimes cringe when female VA try and do male voices but Gregory is wonderful to listen to, her voice as the Leon character made the hackles stand up on my neck!! Very chilling!!!!

Going to seek out more works by Logan and books narrated by Gregory!

My type of thriller

I have been awake all night listening to this book, which I only downloaded yesterday. Good job I don't work! Twists, turns, fascinating storyline, great character5s. I kept guessing, and have to admit, I did get it right about 3/4 of the way through. Narration good too. Recommend highly.

Brilliant

Marred for me in places by the whispering breathy narration. I made it all the way through so it wasn’t too bad 🙂

A good example of the genre

One of the best books I’ve ever had gripping from start to finish worth more than 5 stars

Fantastic

Enjoyable and not who I expected it to be at all - the characters were well formed and the reader gave them more depth with accents and tones - I felt for them and so it got my buy in.

Decent story with layers

Started off quite interestingly, but the narration style became more and more problematic.
It was a misbalance between a slow moving story and an overly dramatic, tremulous way of reading. Quite disappointed.

Couldn’t get through it.
