A simple love story with a traumatised main character, the mystery adds a little flair without making the story taxing. A great choice for playing in the background

Easy listen romance

This is the first book in a series of interconnected standalone. I love the concept of this series and the concept of a meddling mum who match makes for her kids.

This book is about King who is a hockey player and seems to have it all under control And Aurora who’s life is imploding due to some sensitive circumstances. Their interactions are filled with excellent tension and witty banter. I love how they are total opposites but help each other find their happy equilibrium. I wish there has been more character development and world building but that’s my preference and does not take away from the story. Overall, this was a good read

The voices are so whiney it's hard to listen to at times, it really takes from the plot line. he is supposed to be this powerful man but the voice actor..........not good, sorry to be blunt

Narration not good

Must Read

The male narrator must have been drunk or bored out of his mind or.. I don't know, he maybe just wanted to go to bed to sleep..,. The only times he sounded awake were his high tones which were even more annoying. Not to mention he has this older voice which was not something I was looking for a 20 something guy's character. And what was really annoying: his parts of this recording were much lower speak of volume so I ended up turning up and down the volume between the male and female narration parts. Trust me, it gets old after 2 hours. And this one took more than 10 hours. Definetely not his fault, someone should have been paying attention to this aspect at the studio.

Having said that.. his intonation was really good at least (except for the high ones) which is good thing since I have at least 2 more audiobooks I really wanna listen and he is the male narrator. Wasn't happy about that, but.. hell, his sleepy voice grew on me in the last 10 ours :).

The story was good, liked the H and the h, their attitudes and the chemistry between them. Were the parts of them or their beheviours I did not like? Sure. But I am not giving away any spoiler :))
I did not like the last 50 minutes or so though, it was absolutely unnecesery and unrelated.

Still recommend this audiobook, don't mind me bitching about stuff. You should go out and get your own experiences :)

Do not fall asleep at the male narration parts :)

Well, without a doubt this is a very unique book in the genre, unlike anything I've read before, I listened to it in sequence from beginning to end. The ending is a little long but I definitely recommend reading it. Complex, deep characters, revealing a post-traumatic world and dealing with a complex reality.

Love her writing!

I read the e-book version of this story not so long ago and absolutely loved it. Although it's an older novel, it was one of my Top Reads of last year and I was looking forward to listening to it.

This book was amazing! I loved everything about it. The forbidden aspect, Olivia's demons, Will's own issues, and their burgeoning relationship born of trust, respect, and sizzling sexual attraction. My heart cried out for Olivia. Her back story was mysterious and shocking. She was courageous and so tough. I hurt for everything she'd been through, and I adored how Will's mum welcomed her into her home and heart. I adored Will. He was plodding through life out of a sense of guilt and duty, yet he really stepped up for Olivia through her struggles. He didn't always deal with everything properly, as he fought to do the right thing, as he was her coach and she was a student. But, my goodness, how I thrilled at his jealousy and possession of her, and how he was willing to give up everything to be with the woman who made his life worth living. Loved this book hard!

In terms of narration, overall, I thought the delivery was great. I'm familiar with the female narrator and thought she did the female character justice, however, I wasn't not overly keen on the male narrator. I'd never listened to him before. He was a great voice actor but I didn't think his voice and style fitted Will - he made him sound older than he was in the story and I just found that quite distracting.

Overall, though, this was a fantastic read with an unusual storyline that kept me riveted.

Fantastic story!

I loved the writing. The female narrator suited the FMC but, unfortunately, the male narrator was not the right match for the MMC. He turned the MMC whiny and annoying. He also made the female parts he narrated in his chapters sound weak and whiny too. I think the story could have benefited highly from a better match for the MMC. So a 5 for the female narrator but only a 3 for the male one

Well written slow burn -
